Station adopters

We're station adopters

On a very wet summer's day, our team of 'station adopters' were joined by teams from East Midlands Trains and Cross Country Trains. We'd used some of the grant to buy planters, troughs and of course plants. Local businesses had also been generous so everything was ready!

Compost, plants, even water...!! had to be carried up onto the platform.

Val and Sue planted up one of the large troughs.

There are four fence planters in phase one. Phase two is in the autumn.

Seven rather wet, but happy, members of the team.

We'll now work in pairs, visiting the station on our 'duty week', making sure all is tidy, watering the plants and generally maintaining an attractive station environment.Look at what we achived on the next page.In the autumn we re-planted for winter and began work on the 'triangle' outside the station. So now there should be colour throughout the year.
